TOI fanboy

Girl: Did you know this [...] happened?

Me: Yes, I read about it in the TOI.

Girl: You read the TOI?

Me: Absolutely. I am a big Information junkie.

Girl (with that unapproving look): You got to be kidding me! You mean you actually look up the TOI for information???

Me (quipping): Oh yes, I do! In fact, I start with the supplement- The Bangalore Times.

Wonder why girls got to act so smart!

I'll mince you to pieces I tell ya desh for that they thnk they r some kind of intellectual junkies if they read Hindu - my only question is what "addition" is it to my gen info that "Geri Hallwell's dog is gay"

grrrrrr. I know you were hitting at me when you named Hindu :(

If the newspaper is for News, go ahead with an Indian Express/Hindu or something similar but ToI - strictly fot time-pass and nothing serious.

Now please, no duels here on this blog and no battlelines to be drawn. Peace !

Prasoon! I don't believe this. Desh just called you "intellectual"
Not that I doubt it but Desh calling you that!!! Doesn't seem right. He perhaps is really "hitting" on you :P

Indian Express is good. Pretty good. Hindu bores me.

We are bored with the Hindu, and this (http://the-enginerd.blogspot.com/2007/06/sania-mirza-and-laloo-ie-correlation.html) tells all abt IE. So we better stick to TOI ;)

Moreover, we are hooked all day to Google news. So we pretty much cover up everything that is in Hindu n likes...

PS: Google News doesnt feature Geri Halliwell's Dog!

Community effort to create a single persistence model for the Java community

A community effort led by Sun Microsystems is aiming to create a single 'Plain Old Java Object' persistence model to provide a single object/relational mapping facility for Java app developers in J2SE and J2EE. Paul Krill writes In a letter to the “Java Technology Community” on Friday, specification leads on Java Specification Request (JSR) 220, which is the proposal for Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0, and JSR-243, for Java Data Objects, state that the two technologies feature divergent persistence models. “This divergence has caused confusion and debates among Java developers, and is not in the best of interest of the Java community,” said JSR-220 leader Linda DeMichiel who also is a Sun employee, and Craig Russell, a staff engineer at Sun who leads JSR-243. “In response to these requests [for an end to the unwanted divide], Sun Microsystems is leading a community effort to create a single POJO (Plain Old Java Object) persistence model for the Java community,” the letter said.

Gmail Chat Disabled

The fact that it happened does not surprise me but that it took so long for our network administrators to figure it out does. And if you are wondering how do you disable Gmail's chat features on your network, you only need locking DNS lookups to chatenabled.mail.google.com , by returning 127.0.0.1 .
